The Smile of Gayle
I am not a writer, so finding the right words is not something that is easy for me. Although I love words in books, music and conversations. Laura had sent a note a few days ago, her words powerful and clear about how much she misses Gayle, and how heart broken she still feels. After reading her note, again, I am at a loss for words. Later, I was walking down the stairs, past a group of family photos I framed, and love to look at, and marvel in people in the pictures. As I glanced over at a photo of my Dad, taken in 1942, I stopped, said aloud, that is the same smile and sparkle in the eye you get from Gayle!!! I turned back up the stairs to look in my photo album of a picture of Gayle, there it was, the same!
There is a slight smile on their faces, and the eyes soft and looking direct at “me”, saying, “you can do it”.
Gayle has a wonderful gift for all, her belief that we can do it. Not because she thinks we can, but she knows we can. What a gift, indeed.
